Zugha is the marketplace that makes Armenian goods and services accessible to the whole world. Zugha stands for the zenith of Jugha. Zenith means the time at which something’s power and success is at its peak. And Jugha is an ancient Armenian trading hub. Jugha is in Nakhichevan, but when it was part of the Persian Empire, the people were forcibly removed to create a buffer zone between other empires. Because of the prosperity the Armenians brought to the empire, they were given a new city, named Nor Jugha, or New Jugha, with special trading privileges. Nor Jugha became the new hub for the Armenian diaspora connected through religion, language, and kinship, turning their trading network into an independent world economy. Their success was due to the unparalleled support Armenians had for each other despite geographical location. Now that the already vast diaspora of Armenians has become boundless, Zugha is rebuilding this network, connecting Armenians to each other and to the rest of the world through trade.
